Brooklyn
Midwood
Quiet, residential and family-friendly, with real space and greenery.
Midwood is deep Brooklyn at its most residential: wide streets, detached houses with front gardens and a calm pace you rarely find closer to Manhattan.
The neighborhood is home to large Jewish and immigrant communities, with kosher markets, bakeries and shops all along Avenue J and Coney Island Avenue.
Rentals are typically spacious apartments in two-family houses or well-kept prewar buildings, with prices well below northern Brooklyn. Brooklyn College and several parks are right nearby.
