Brooklyn
Bushwick
Murals, warehouses turned apartments and Brooklyn's creative heart.
Bushwick is the neighborhood artists moved to, and it shows on nearly every block — huge painted murals, galleries in old warehouses and bars that used to be garages.
Apartments tend to be larger than in neighboring Williamsburg, with more space for the money. You'll find railroad layouts in older buildings alongside newly renovated units with new kitchens and laundry in the building.
It is a young, lively neighborhood with a strong Latin community, great bakeries and taquerias, and easy access to Manhattan on the L train.
